General Description
Location: Danang is situated on the South China Sea in the Gulf of Tonking, approx 390nm NNE of Ho Chi Minh City.
General overview: It is a principal port of central Vietnam and is of importance being the outlet from the coal mines at Nang Son, 35nm up river. Cargo handled: General cargo, bulk cargo, container cargo, petroleum and cars. The port of Danang owns nearly 1,200 m of berths with the capacity of receiving cargo vessels up to 70,000 DWT, container ships up to 4,000 TEUs and passenger ships up to 170,000 GRT; in addition, the loading and unloading equipment and modern warehouse. The 7 berths with the length from 85 m to 310 m and design depth of 5 - 14.3 m can accomodate RORO ships, container ships, large and medium-sized passenger ships, super-length and super-weight cargo ships.
Traffic figures: Approximately 19,500 passengers visit the port and 3,900,000t of cargo and 114,000TEU handled annually.
Load line zone: China Sea Seasonal Tropical Area, Tropical Jan 21 to Apr 30, Summer May 1 to Jan 20.

IMO cargo can be discharged & loaded - Manifest & BL are to be submitted in 3- 4 days prior to arrival.
Transit cargo can be accepted in all ports of Vietnam, Manifest is to be submitted in 3 days before arrival.
