Location: Hallstavik is located at the head of Edeboviken, in the archipelago of Oregrund, approx 54nm N of Stockholm and approx 70knm S of Gelfe. General overview: A well sheltered harbour, owned and operated by Holmen Paper who operate one of Sweden's largest paper mills in the port. Normally there is ice from the last week of Dec to the last week of Mar and the first week in Apr; however, the port is normally kept open all winter. Traffic figures: Approx annual exports of 450,000t of newsprint, imports of 35,000t of clay, 30,000t of fuel oil and 50,000m³ of pulp logs. Approx 247 vessels handled annually. Load line zone: Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Zone for ships of 100m or less. Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31. Max size: Daytime: LOA 185m, beam 28m, draught 7.0m. Night time or reduced visibility: LOA 150m, beam 20m, draught 7.0m.
