General Description
Location: Shui Dong (Maoming) is situated on the S China coast approx 90nm WSW of Hong Kong. General overview: This is a new port consisting of 3 port areas, Shui Dong, Bohe and Beishanling, catering almost exclusively to unloading and storing liquid chemical products and oil products. In addition to the alongside berths, there is an SBM that can accommodate vessels up to 280,000DWT (21°21'N 111°24'E), approx 20nm SE. Main import and export cargoes are crude oil, petroleum products, vegetable oil, LPG, containers and general cargo. Traffic figures: Approx 17,031,000t of cargo and 29,000TEU handled annually. Load line zone: China Sea Seasonal Tropical Area, Tropical Jan 21 to Apr 30, Summer May 1 to Jan 20. Max size: LOA 276m, draught 9.5m, no beam restriction, 50,000DWT. LPG: Max draught 8.3m, beam 28m, 30,000DWT. SBM: Max draught 19.6m, 280,000DWT, distance BCM 166m.
