Alpart, the berth operators, use the berth for the export of alumina and bauxite, import of fuel, acid, grain and other materials. General cargo is handled at a small finger pier. Traffic figures: Approx 100 vessels and over 2,255,000t of cargo handled annually. Load line zone: North Atlantic Seasonal Tropical Area, Tropical Nov 1 to Jul 15, Summer Jul 16 to Oct 31.
