General Description
Location: The port of Pythagorio Samos is located on the southeast coast of the island Samos. The island of Samos itself is close to Turkey separated by the Mycale Strait which measures approximately only 1.6 kilometers (1 mile).
General overview: Pythagorio is a subport of Samos. The port is a small ferry port. There are 2 ferry companies operating ferries to and from Pythagorio (Samos). A.N.E Kalymnou and Dodekanisos Seaways both operate ferries to and from Pythagorio (Samos). It provides all-weather shelter although the outer harbor is open to the SE. One can either moor in the inner harbor or anchor in the outer harbor. In the inner harbor, anchor towards the north end of the quay, avoiding the SW end where most of the day-trip boats moor.
There is also ferry connection from/ to Samos & many other islands/ towns in Greece such as Kavala, Ikaria, Fournoi, Patmos, Kos, Leros, Kalymnos, Paros, Mykonos, Syros, Tinos, Chios, Mitelene, Kusadasi (Turkey) and others.
