The shipping platform

Location: Locatated on Sun Island N of the entrance to the Yangtse River. General overview: Yangkou is located NE of Nantong on the Yellow Sea in Rudong County and has a natural water depth of 17m. The development of the new port include shore reclamation for an Industrial area, a 13km causeway to Sun Island (a 1.4km² man made island) where a 100,000DWT coal terminal has already been completed and plans include a further 2 x 100,000DWT terminals to handle general bulk and refined oil. Other construction including an LNG terminal on the NE corner of Sun Island has been completed, with an annual capacity of 3,000,000t, and a series of smaller berths. Load line zone: Summer.
