Location: Ahus stands on the N bank at the mouth of Helge a, 16nm N of Stenshuvud. General overview: The port is a medium sized commercial harbour with good facilities for handling bulk, liquid and general cargoes. Principal exports include grain, alcohol, stone and timber. Principal imports include fertilisers, oil, gypsum and grain. Bulk handling accounts for 60 per cent of the total volume handled. Traffic figures: Approx 533 vessels and 700,000t of cargo handled annually. Load line zone: Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Zone for ships of 100m or less in length. Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31. Max size: LOA 160m, draught 7.6m.
