General Description
Location: The port of Bata is situated approx 1.5km from the River Ecuco. General overview: Bata is split up into the "old" (Bata) and "new" (Puerto Macias Nguema) port areas. The old harbour is situated close NW of the town and consist of an anchorage and a small enclosed harbour. The new port area is located approx 3nm SSW of the town and consist of an ''L'' shape jetty and a small boat basin. The port has facilities for general cargo and tankers. The principal exports are palm oil, timber, cocoa and coffee beans. Traffic figures: Approx 240,000t of cargo and 86 vessels handled annually. Load line zone: Tropical. Max size: Puerto Macias Nguema: LOA 324m, draught 11.5m.
