General Description
Location: Nasipit is located inside the Nasipit Cove at Barrio Talisay of the municipality of Nasipit, SE of Butuan Bay. General overview: Nasipit is the government base port in the Province of Agusan del Norte. PPA Port Management Office of Nasipit covers the Port of Nasipit (Baseport), Port of Butuan (Terminal Port) and Port of Masao (Terminal Port). There are anchorage areas along the coast from Diwata Point to Bolo-Bolo Point and the banks of Agusan River and all loading and unloading points within the political boundaries of Agusan del Norte Province, Island of Mindanao, Philippines. The main cargoes handled by the port are copra, flour, bottled cargoes, fertilisers, chemicals, iron, steel, petroleum and petroleum products, corn and corn products and timber products. Cargoes are loaded and discharged to and from vessels berthed at the new Nasipit Port container berths and Ro-Ro ramps through ship's derricks and forklift units. Falcatta logs and softwood are loaded onboard the vessel at the Nasipit Port anchorage using ship's gear. Traffic figures: Approx 3,000,000t of cargo, 28,000TEU, 1,000 vessels and 414,000 passengers handled annually. Load line zone: Tropical.
