General Description
Location: Situated on the Atlantic Seaboard, Camden is located across the Delaware River from Philadelphia.
General overview: Camden is one of the "Ports of Philadelphia" within the Delaware River Port Area. Several terminals are part of the South Jersey Port Corporation (SJPC). This is a specialised bulk/break bulk terminal serving the expanding southern New Jersey region. Deep water berths facilitate the handling of plywood, lumber, ferrous scrap, coal, cocoa products, salt, iron ore, steel products, containers and various break bulk commodities.
Traffic figures: Approx 3,500,000t of cargo handled at the port annually.
Load line zone: Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Seasonal Area for ships of 100m or less in length, Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31.
