General Description
Location: Ghazaouet, situated in western Algeria, lies close to the mouth of Oued el Mersa on the E side of a small bay, close to the border with Morocco.
General overview: Ghazaouet is a medium-size commercial harbour handling chemicals, edible oils, bulk minerals, grain, general cargo and passengers. Ro-Ro berths are available.
The harbor is protected on its N side by a breakwater extending W from Plateau de Touent.

-Mole Djanet - 300m Length (Bulk & dry cargo) 2 cranes of 10T.
-Mole d'Alger - 300m Length (Discharge of vegetable oil, serf, coprah, palm stearine etc.)
-Mole Batna - 151m Length (Passenger, cruise & ro/ro vessels)
-Mole Constantine - (General cargo, ro/ro & lo/lo)
-Mole Tlemcen - (Sulphuric acid in bulk, zinc ingots & general cargo / Bulk cargoes (grain & mineral cargo)
Storage:
-Silo facilities around 30000T
-Tank facilities for vegetable oil of 2640T
Traffic figures: Approx 800,000t of cargo is handled annually.
Load line zone: Summer.
Max size: LOA 185m; draught 11.0m.
