Location: Huizhou is situated in Daya Bay on the SE coast of China, close to the S end of the Taiwan Strait. The port is 47nm from Hong Kong, 25nm from Guanzhou and 180nm from Shantou. General overview: There are 4 general berths, CSPC Marine Terminal has 2 jetties with 4 berths, handling naphtha and chemical products, there are also LPG berths and the GPC Oil terminal in the area. CNOOC/Shell have constructed a refinery on the N coast of the Bay which includes crude oil imports at Mabian Island and harbour berths at Donglian Jetty for products. Off shore there is the FPSO Nan Hai Fa Xian for the export of crude oil, (see separate entry for Huizhou Terminal). Main imports include steel products, cement, grain, petroleum, liquefied gas, containers, machinery and coal. Main exports, General cargo and crude oil. Traffic figures: Approx 26,000,000t of cargo, 230,000TEU handled annually. Load line zone: China Sea Seasonal Tropical Area, Tropical Jan 21 to Apr 30, Summer May 1 to Jan 20. Max size: General cargo: LOA 176m, beam 26m, draught 9.8m, 40,000DWT. GPC Oil Terminal: LOA 430m, 150,000DWT, draught 16.1m. LPG terminal: LOA 180m, draught 8.5m. Donglian Jetty: LOA 178m, draught 9.0m, 40,000DWT. Mabian Island Jetty: LOA 430m, draught 16.1m, 150,000DWT.
