Location: Karlshamn is situated at the mouth of Mie A, which flows into Karlshamnsfjarden. General overview: A SE Baltic port, accessible all year round with a harbour protected by breakwaters, with good anchorage. It is a major commercial port well equipped to handle most types of vessel including large tankers and bulk carriers. Imports: Copra, oil seed, coal, vegetable and mineral oils, and general cargo. Exports: Pulp and paper products, stone, grain, timber and animal feed. Traffic figures: Approx 2,200 vessels and 8,000,000t of cargo handled annually. Load line zone: Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Zone for ships of 100m or less in length. Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31. Max size: Stilleryd: LOA 200m, draught 10.5m. Kolon Tanker Jetty: LOA 245m, draught 13.5m. Inner harbour: LOA 160m, draught 8.5m. Sutudden Tanker Terminal: LOA 180m, draught 10.0m.
