General Description
Location: The Port of Kerteh is situated in Kemaman district, Terengganu.
General overview: The Port of Kerteh, operated by Petronas, is responsible for oil platform operations, petrochemicals production, natural gas processing and crude oil refining.
There are 3 marine terminals located within the port:
- Kerteh Marine Facilities (KMF): There are six tanker berths for vessels up to 40,000DWT handling liquefied gas and petrochemicals. One multipurpose berth and one support craft berth, protected by a breakwater.
- PETRONAS Penapisan (Terengganu) SPM (PP(T)SB-SPM): A Catenary Anchor Leg Mooring (CALM) type buoy with two strings of loading hoses for black and white oil.
- Terengganu Crude Oil Terminal (TCOT-SALM): Consists of two SALM type SBMs operated by ExxonMobil Production Malaysia Inc. These facilities are located in a restricted 20sq nm area within the port limits and can handle vessels up to 250,000DWT.
