Location: The Mjimwema Oil Terminal is located on the east coast of Tanzania, adjacent to the west side of the Indian Ocean and northeast of Zanzibar Island. General overview: As a sub port of Dar es Salaam, the Mjimwema Oil Terminal consists of two key facilities: the Single Point Mooring (SPM) and the Kurasini Oil Jetty (KOJ). The SPM serves as an offshore tanker berth exclusively designed for the handling of crude and refined oil. It has a remarkable capacity to accommodate tankers weighing up to 150,000 deadweight tons, with a fast discharge speed of 2,500 cubic meters per hour for crude oil. The SPM is connected to refineries in Dar es Salaam and Ndola, Zambia, through floating hoses and submarine pipes. On the other hand, the Kurasini Oil Jetty (KOJ) is designated for the handling of refined oil products. It possesses a pumping capacity of 750 tons per hour and can handle tankers up to 45,000 deadweight tons. Additionally, the Mjimwema Oil Terminal has a total liquid bulk handling capacity of up to 6.0 million tons. Storage: - Oil Tanks
