General Description
Location: Nha Trang is situated on the extreme E coast of Nha Trang Bay, Vietnam, approx 170nm NE of Ho Chi Minh City.
General overview: Nha Trang is a government port which has been enlarged and upgraded recently. The port is located at the area of 4,3 ha with 1,584 m2 of warehouses and 25,700 m2 of open storages. There are three berths to handle general cargo, container and passenger vessels. There are also anchorage berths and oil terminals. The shipbuilding yard has two large drydocks. Cruise ships dock at the Cau Da Port pier. The port handles passengers, containers and general cargo. Liquid bulk cargo is handled at CBM facility in Mui Chut.
Traffic figures: Port handles approximately 522 vessels, 1,042,778t of cargo, 2,573TEU, and 26,000 passengers annually.
Load line zone: China Sea Seasonal Tropical Area, Tropical Jan 21 to Apr 30, Summer May 1 to Jan 20.
