General Description
Location: The Port of Noshiro is situated on the northwest coast of Honshu Island, overlooking the Sea of Japan.
General overview: The Port of Noshiro was established as a result of the inoperability of the old port in Yoneshiro Kawa, due to persistent silting caused by frequent floods. As a newly established port, Noshiro serves as a hub for the timber trade and handles substantial amounts of coal and oil, supplying a power station located within the port.
