General Description

Location: Papenburg is situated 25nm above Emden on the River Ems. General overview: The port opens onto the Sielkanal via two entrance locks, the Seesschleuse lock 154 m in length and 26 m in width, for general use, and very large vessels, with up to 43m beam can enter the harbour by the shipyard Dockschlease lock, width 46 m. The harbor basin in the north industrial area of ​​the city of Papenburg has since been expanded by 520 m to a total length of 1,320 m.
