General Description
Location: FSO "Safer" is permanently moored in a location approx 4.8nm offshore Ras Isa, Yemen in 15° 07.0'N 042°36.0'E. General overview: The terminal is operated by Yemen Hunt Oil Co (YHOC). The Ras Isa marine terminal consists of: 1. The 409,000DWT Floating Storage and Offloading vessel (FSO) "Safer", including its bow mooring, hoses, pipeline end manifold (PLEM) and pipeline from Ras Isa and all waters surrounding the "Safer" within a 2nm radius: 2. The (auxiliary) Single Point Mooring buoy (SPM), floating hoses, PLEM and the pipeline from Ras Isa and all waters surrounding the SPM within 1nm radius; and 3. The designated holding anchorage. A submarine pipeline extends from the "Safer's" bow turret a distance of 1.55nm to the SPM, which is fitted with a flashing light, in 15°08.5'N 042°36.5'E. From there, the pipeline proceeds for a distance of 2.65nm to the shore in position 15°11.0'N 042°37.8'E. Load line zone: Tropical.
