General Description
Location: The port of Haifa is located in the S of Haifa Bay.
General overview: The Port of Haifa, operated by Haifa Port Co. is the leading and largest port in Israel. The port is protected by two breakwaters:
- The Main Breakwater is 2.8km in length to the NW and the lee breakwater is 760m in length to the E.
- The Lee Breakwater is now part of the Carmel Eastern Container Terminal, under construction.
Within the port is a basin of 1,066,000m², consisting of the main port and Kishon Harbour, to the east. The land area of the port extends to over 4,500,000m². The Offshore chemical berth at Akko, 6NM NE, is serviced by Haifa pilots.

Traffic figures: Approx. 2,415 vessels, 19,800,000t of cargo, including 1,450,000TEUs and 235,000 passengers are handled by the port annually.

Discharging: before loading at the load port cargo IMO declaration + MSDS showing full details of the shipper and receiver to be presented to local authorities + port, only after obtaining their authorization the cargo may be loaded.
Discharging is direct delivery.
The vessel must have all certificates as per IMO regulation and merger test must be c/o.
