General Description
Location: The Port of Labuan is situated on the island of Labuan, located off the west coast of Sabah.
General overview: The Port of Labuan provides services to local importers and exporters, as well as the oil and gas industries, and has six main wharves and an SBM for handling general, container, bulk, and oil cargoes.
Labuan is also the centre of the supply industry for the oil industry in the South China Sea and Borneo. The port has a crude oil terminal and SBM at Tanjung Kiamsam, about 10km west of Labuan.
Additionally, Labuan provides facilities for barter trade with boats from the Philippines bringing in native rattan, wood, decorations, and fruits such as mangoes and mangosteen, and taking out textiles, hardware, canned food, and electrical goods.
