General Description
Location: Ortona lies on the Adriatic coast of Italy 20 miles NW from the harbour of Porto di Vasto and 10 miles SW from the port of Pescara.
General overview: Ortona is specialized in the handling of the bulk, general cargo and project cargo. The port has spaces and infrastructures adapted for cargo, RORO and passenger traffic. The port is protected by two moles, with an anchorage outside the harbour in water depths to 15.0m. The port area itself is protected from all winds except the strongest E'lies, and offers facilities for both wet and dry cargoes.
Chief imports are wood, coal and oil. Exports include bricks, grapes, wine, herbs and cereals. Services offered include bunkers, fresh water, provisions and minor repairs. The port of Ortona is primarly reserved for cargo ships and fishing boats.

-Northern Dock: sea bottoms up to 7.10 m. 457 metres long;
-Dock "Riva": sea bottoms up to 5.70 m. 236 metres long;
-Dock "Riva nuova": sea bottoms up to 5.70 m, 260 metres long;
-Dock "Martello": sea bottoms up to 5.70 m; 130 metres long;
-Commercial quay: sea bottoms up to 5.70 m; 200 metres long.
Traffic figures: Approx 110,000t dry cargo, 300,000t gasoline imported and the export of 100,000t dry cargo annually.
