General overview: The port is well sheltered from winds in the third quadrant but heavy swells do cause vessels to range alongside. There are facilities for handling general, bulk, container, Ro-Ro and tanker traffic. The principal imports and exports are containers, breakbulk, dry and liquid bulk cargoes.
