General Description
Location: The Port of Shinminato is situated at the mouth of the River Oyabe in the southwestern corner of Toyama Bay, on the western coast of Honshu facing the Sea of Japan.
General overview: The Port of Shinminato featuring a multi-purpose international terminal that accommodates container cargo, as well as a fumigation shed for imported foods such as vegetables and fruits, the Port of Shinminato offers a range of services to shippers and importers. It is important to note that the adjacent ports of Fushiki and Toyama come under the jurisdiction of Fushiki-Toyama Port, and have separate entries.
Noto peninsula forms a natural breakwater, protecting the port from monsoons and Japan Sea swells. Additionally, due to Lake Hojyozu, there is no current, and the port remains calm throughout the year.
