Location: The Port of Stavanger is situated on the western coast of Norway, in Boknafjorden. Located in Rogalans county on the Stavanger Peninsula
General overview: The Port of Stavanger is a sheltered and ice-free port that includes the ports of Mekjarvik, Dusavik, and Risavika.
Stavanger offers over 4,000m of berth length across nine quays for handling bulk, general, and containerized cargoes, as well as properties for management, pleasure boating, and tourism.
The port is also connected to the Norwegian railway system with links to Sorlandsbanen, Kristiansand, and Oslo. Stavanger serves as a key port for the offshore oil industry and tankers, with shipbuilding and repair facilities, and is the primary North Sea port for oil rig maintenance and repair.
It also serves as a hub for cruise ships and UK passenger ferry vessels, with Strandkaien, Bekhuskaien, Skansekaien, and Strandkaien as the main handling points for ro/ro traffic and passenger and cruise vessels.
