Location: Xinhui port 8km to the S of the city, in the province of Guangdong, is situated W of Tanjiang River, W of Zhujiang (Pearl) River Delta and 105nm from Hong Kong, S China. General overview: Xinhui has made economic growth due to rich mineral resources exported to the far east and an active light industry. The port, with both a medium and deepwater berth, is a popular passenger port connecting mainland China to Hong Kong. Traffic figures: Approx 860,000t of cargo handled annually, comprising 200,000t by 20,000 containers, 460,000t for break bulk packages and 200,000t for anchored passing ships.
