Location: The port of Hidd is located on the NE coast of Bahrain, to the SE of Mina Sulman, east of Sitra and the capital Manama. The port area is situated at the entrance to Mina Sulman and the Khor Qhaliya which is protected by the islands of Bahrain, Sitra and Muharraq to the west and the Bahrain Investment Wharf breakwater to the east. General information: Hidd Industrial Area, including Khalifa Bin Salman Port and numerous private jetties; Khalifa Bin Salman Port is under the management of APM Terminals. Hidd Port was built far out to sea and begain its operation in 2009. The Bahrain Government Harbour Master at Mina Sulman has jurisdiction over Bahrain ports. Four post Panamax cranes are being used at the container terminal, givingan opportunity to cope with 1,100,000TEU. The container terminal length is 900 meters, with an additional 400 meters of multipurpose quay which can be used for containers if necessary. There is an option to build 4 more berths and 12 quay cranes. Max. Size: -Breakbulk: Depth 15.0 m. (tidal). -Containers: LOA 360 m., draft 14.0 m. (tidal). -Passengers: Depth 15.0 m.
