Location: Hamriyah Free Zone Port lies 15km N of Sharjah. The emirate of Sharjah is the only one that has ports on the coast of the Arabian Sea and Arabian Gulf, which make it an integral part of the global supply chain with access to global shipping networks. The Hamriyah Port is a centre for exports in international markets. The prime coastal location is enhanced thanks to Sharjah’s well-connected road network which also connects the area to Oman, Bahrain and further on. In addition to being a hub for oil and gas companies, other highlights include the HFZA Maritime City where investors can augment opportunities like shipbuilding, repair, offshore fabrication and others. General overview: The harbour originally constructed for the export of LPG, now handles car imports and general cargo and oil products. The port is divided into two areas, Main Harbour and Inner Harbour, which are operational but Phase III and IV are still under construction. Main harbour is designed for handling grain products, heavy duty cargoes, oil products, general cargoes, forest products, cement and LPG. The inner harbour is located in the north part of Hamriyah Free Zone. There is a SBM operated by BP, offshore of Hamriyah, handling crude and condensate cargoes. Traffic figures: Approx 4,681,000t of cargo and 2,014 vessels are handled annually. Load line zone: Tropical. Max size: Main Harbour: Max length 230m, draught 12.6m, 60,000DWT. Inner Harbour: LOA 120m and max draught 7.0m. SBM: Draught 16.0m, 150,000t displacement, 250,000SDWT, BCM 150m (temporarily reduced). IMO Class 1: NOT ACCEPTABLE
