General Description
Location: Milos Island is situated approx 87nm SSE of Athens.
General overview: Milos Island has a large, deep bay with good anchoring ground which may be considered safe in all but the strongest S'ly winds. The port itself is made up of the harbour area, Adamas, and Voudhia Bay. Cargoes are mainly volcanic mineral ores for export, general and passengers. The types of ferries that sail to Milos are conventional ferries and high-speed/catamaran ferries. Conventional ferries are slower, while high-speed ferries are faster. In Adamas docking is possible for some 40 boats over 30 ft. Ferries and most cruise ships to Milos Island dock (anchor) at Adamas. Smaller ships may stop at Pollonia (on the island's north coast).
