Location: Located in northern Brazil, on the eastern part of the entrance to the Todos os Santos Bay. General overview: Salvador has 12 berths, mainly general cargo, one specialising in containers and another in Ro-Ro. Salvador also provides services, clearance and pilotage for the ports of Aratu (including Dow chemicals), Petrobras oil terminal of Madre de Deus and Usiba iron ore terminal, all under separate entries. Imports / Exports are handled at 5 berths, also 4 berths for coastal vessels. A modern container terminal with: - 6 Portainers - 11 Forklifts - 8 RTG on wheels The port can accommodate 10 vessels simultaneously. Warehousing: - 9 Cargo Warehouses (15,000m2) - 2 Tanks (Vegetable Oil) - Yards (60,000m2) Traffic figures: Salvador handles approx 5,000,000t cargo and 208,000TEU annually. Private Terminals Traffic 11,500,000t of crude oil and oil products are handled annually. Load line zone: Tropical. The frequency of docked vessels is around 75 ships / month.
