General Description
Location: The Port of Tobruk is 0ositioned in Eastern Libya near the Egyptian border, approximately 450 kilometers (280 miles) east of Benghazi, the Port of Tobruk is a significant maritime facility.
General overview: The Port of Tobruk predominantly handles general cargo and crude oil. Its berths are primarily dedicated to the reception of general cargo, containers, molding, livestock, and oil quay operations. Notably, the Marsa al Hariga oil terminal (a separate entry), boasts two jetties located on the southern shore of the bay.
To ensure safe navigation, pilots are required for entry into the port. Furthermore, the Port of Tobruk offers ten anchorages, each with a capacity to accommodate six vessels, making it a vital hub for maritime activities in the region.
