Location: The Port of Szczecin is situated at the mouth of the River Odra, approximately 65km inland from Swinoujscie and the open sea. General overview: The Port of Szczecin is a universal port consisting of two areas: general cargo and bulk cargo. The general cargo area handles all types of cargo, including containers, roll-on roll-off cargo, and oversized components for wind farms. The bulk cargo area primarily handles coal, coke, ore, fertilizers, and grain, as well as container traffic and specialized liquid bulk cargoes such as chemicals, pitch, and tar. The port has a total of 19.5km quays, of which 8km is equipped with cranes. It can handle vessels with a maximum draught of 9.15m and a length of up to 215m. It is the largest transshipment center for granite blocks in Poland and is ice-free all year round. The port's imports include ore, scrap iron, fertilizer, grain, oil, and timber, while its exports include coal, iron, timber, cement, sugar, salt, and general goods.
