General Description
Location: Ain Sukhna is situated on the western shore of the Gulf of Suez, approx 50km S of Suez.
General overview: Ain Sukhna Terminal is the S terminal of the Sumed pipeline and consists of 4 SBM's moored between 1.0 and 2.5nm offshore. Crude oil is offloaded from ships that are too deep to enter the Suez Canal fully loaded and it is then pumped to Sidi Kerir. Ain Sukhna Port is situated about 3nm N of the terminal, the pipeline operates at a rate of about 6000 t/h.
Traffic figures: Approx. 350 vessels visit the port and 80,000,000t of crude oil handled annually.

15 steel storage tanks (103000 m3 each)
Load line zone: Tropical.
Max size: SBM 4: Draught 31.5m, up to 565,000DWT. SBM 1 & 2: Up to 350,000DWT. SBM 3: Up to 150,000DWT. The max deadweight at SBM 2 and SBM 3 can be increased to 400,000DWT and 200,000DWT respectively, subject to suitable weather and terminal acceptance.
