Location: Bahia Las Minas is on a peninsula 8.8km E of the Atlantic entrance to the Panama Canal. General overview: The port is mainly an oil port, the refinery specialising in importing crude oil and exporting refinery products. There are three docks; the Tanker Dock, the Dry Cargo Dock and the Barge Dock. Minor repairs can be carried out; major repairs can be completed at the Panama Canal facilities, less than 15km away. Load line zone: Tropical. Max size: Tanker Berth: LOA 240m, draught 11.8m, 60,000DWT. General cargo quay: LOA 152m, draught 7.0m. Restrictions in vessels lengths vary when the quay is used by Ro-Ro vessels which berth by the bow or stern, and in this case vessels up to 182m length are permitted.
