General Description
Location: Port Poti is on a plain, where the Rioni River empties into the Black Sea, 265 km northwest of Tbilisi, with its geographical location represents a crossroad of the Caucasian corridor, approx 110km N of the Turkish border.
General overview: Poti is the principal port for the transhipment of cargo to and from Central Asia and the Trans-Caspian district, has recently been acquired by APM and RAKIA, handling liquid and dry bulk, ferries as well as containers. It is also the shipping port for the export of manganese ore from the Caucasian and Chiaturi regions. The port consists of an outer roadstead and an inner harbour. The inner harbour, which is protected by breakwaters, consists of 4 basins approached by a channel. It has 15 berths, with total berth length of 2,900m and more than 20 quay cranes.

POTI NEW SEA PORT
PNSP is Multipurpose port handling dry bulk, Ro-Ro, break bulk, and containers. Port is operational 365 days a year
PORT RESTRICTIONS:
LOA 225 m., beam 35.0 m., draft 11 m.
Vessels exceeding LOA 180 m. are restricted to daylight navigation.
The port will be closed if the leading lights at the port entrance are obscured by fog or other causes of poor visibility.
The speed limit inside the breakwaters is 4 knots. Present actual safe draft in entrance channel - 10,10 m. (subject to dredging operations performing after stormy weather)
