Location: Praia Mole is situated on the N side of Baia do Espirito Santo, 12km NE of Vitoria, adjacent to the port of Tubarao. General overview: Praia Mole comprises of a pier for the discharge of coal and a quay dedicated to the export of steel products including slabs, billets, coils and plates. The coal pier is administered by Companhia Vale do Rio Doce and the steel products terminal by Companhia Siderurgica de Tubarao. Terminal of Coal (Berth length 705.67m) Berth 1: LOA 316,92 m // Depth 17 m (Discharge rate 25.000 ~ 30.000 mt per day) Berth 2: LOA 400 m // Depth 18 m (Discharge rate: 25.000 ~ 30.000 mt per day) The coal terminal is used for discharging coal, anthracite, coke etc. The handling equipment consists of 4 cranes and 3 conveyor belts. Terminal of Steel Products (Berth Length 638m) Berth 1: LOA 214,5 m // Depth 13,5 m Berth 2: LOA 201,2m // Depth 13,5 m Berth 3 LOA 225,25 m // Depth 13,5 m The steel terminal is used for loading and discharging steel products, granite, pig iron, rails, locomotives and general cargo. The terminal handles cargo with it's 7 shore cranes. Bunkering is available in the port through a barge.
