It is equipped to handle up to 30 million tonnes of iron ore annually and features a deep-water pier capable of accommodating Valemax, one of the world's largest and most efficient bulk carriers.
The use of Valemax reduces greenhouse gas emissions associated with ore transportation to Asia, and enables Vale to customize different types of iron ore to the needs of regional steelmakers.
