Location: The Port of Toyohashi is a part of Mikawa Port and is located in Aichi Prefecture. General overview: The Port of Toyohashi was initially established as a timber import port, but now it is an important hub for automobile imports and exports, with around 50% of Japan's imported cars passing through the port. The port is divided into two main areas: the Jinno and Funato public area and the Osaki industrial area, which includes the Toyota vehicle wharf. The Jinno and Funato area is primarily used for handling general cargo, while the Osaki industrial area is focused on handling automobiles and automobile-related products. The Toyota vehicle wharf in the Osaki industrial area is the largest automobile import/export terminal at the port, with over 3,000 meters of berth space and the capacity to handle up to 500,000 vehicles per year. Other facilities at the port include container terminals, bulk cargo terminals, and facilities for handling petroleum products.
