General Description
Location: The Port of Kokura is situated in the southesast region of Wakamatsu Ku and is part of the Port of Kitakyushu complex.
General overview: The Port of Kokura comprises of two main cargo wharves, each equipped with seven berths, providing a total length of 963 meters. The port's wharf site spans over 2.9 hectares, and an additional 1.9 hectares of harbor-related area is available for use.
Kokura's facilities include a storage shelter, boarding facilities for passengers, an 11,000 square meter freight handling station, and 354 meters of port roads.
The Port of Kokura is known for its ability to handle a wide range of cargoes including steel, cement, petroleum, LNG, container, and general cargoes.
Additionally, it serves as an important import ferry terminal, making it a key gateway for the region's trade.
Traffic figures: Approx. 400 vessels visit the port annually.
