Location: Dangjin is situated tt the mouth of the Ansong River (Ansong-gang), approx. 40 km. east of Daesan and 65 km. SSW of Seoul, on the S side of the river. General overview: Dangjin is a subport of Pyeong Taek and is known as the nearest port to Chinese mainland (port is located approximately 350 km (188 nautical miles) away). The port consists of 35 berths which serve Dangjin Coal-Fired Power Complex. Main cargoes handled are steel and steel products, general cargoes, slag and non-powder slag, liquid bulk, grains, coal, iron ore and bituminous coal.
